2wd Pre-runner. Had it for 6 years, never one problem or issue...great resale too..

How much truck? Dodge is dumping the 2008s, Chevy has the Employee thing plus
$5K, didn't shop Fords because I needed something to pull ~12K+ lbs and they are suing their engine manufacturer for their HD options...

I would have purchased a Nissan Frontier if I didn't need to tow. Have a '07 Pathfinder LE and it is absolutely awesome on and off road. Sounds like that may be an option for you...
