Default New 5 spoke wheels

This is getting confusing. I just went to my dealer and found out that the new 17" 5 spoke wheels are part of the performance package. I thought that the 17" 6 spoke wheels were standard on the 225TTQ. Is this something new? And how can one get the Xenon headlights with the 6 spoke rims, not the 5 spoke? By the way, any opinions on how the 5 spokes look vs. the 6 spoke.

Default Nothing has changed

All 225s will have 17"s. If you don't opt for the Performance Package, then you'll get the 6-spoke wheel.

I'm sure you'll be able to trade (at the dealer or otherwise) the 5-spoke wheels for 6-spoke wheels, as the former are forged (thus stronger & lighter) and may be more desireable as a result (aesthetic preferences aside).

Opinions? I like the 5-spoke wheels better because I think they look better. Also, they do not protrude like the 6-spoke wheels, which reduces curb gouging possibilities. Finally, lighter rolling stock translates into increased performace. Sounds good to me.

Prefer the 5 spoke wheels for all the reasons you mentioned, John

Where do you live?

Get the 5 spoke wheeels. Give me those, and I'll give you my six spokes.

One of the problems with the 6 spoke wheel configuration is that the rim sticks out beyond the tire edge. Therefore people were scratching their rims on the curbs and in the car washes

Default Thank you all for your responses.

I haven't decided on a wheel, so whoever wanted the 5 for 6 exchange, I will let you know when the time comes. It looks like the 5 spoke is the better wheel though...

Formula1R: I attended the Atlanta Auto Show last weekend and took a digital picture specifically of the new 5 spoke. It's really quite nice; I like it better than the 6, but, I am concerned about scratching. Let me know if you want me to download it on this forum for you (if I can figure it out). Better yet, give me your email address and I'll attach and send.
