Default New DV and Mod Shack Spacer Mod Complete, A few Q's and Observations....

I purchased a Forge 006 from Strat a while back, but never got around to installing it. Well, after reading all the hype about DV's lately, especially the Schwing mod I decided it was time. I have had my DV replaced at the dealer and they gave me an N valve, so that is what I was replacing. I put about 6000 miles on the N valve.

First I did the spacer mod, installed the valve, and went for a test drive. At first I really didnt see any drastic difference, but kept driving and trying to remember how the car responded before the install. Here are my observations:

The car seems to have a much smoother idle, before this it was rather rough and tended to jump around while sitting still in traffic. It is now much smoother. Maybe this is a coincidence, but Im not sure. Anyone?

The car is much smoother off idle and power is much more linear.

I was experiencing an extreme surge between gears, especially between 1st and 2nd. That is completely gone.....

The power stays steady throughout the rev range all the way to redline.

While at cruise on the highway, the power comes on much easier. Even in the higher RPM's the power is easier to get to....

Apparently the N valves are not as reliable as some people think they are. My car was 100% stock so replacing the N with the modded 006 has made a huge improvement.

One question I have is this. Would replacing the valve without the modification have made these improvements by itself?

All comments are welcome, and if any of this sounds crazy please let me know.....

Default IMHO, without the spacer mod, you would not have noticed as much smoothness and linear power,

'specially at the higher RPM's
