Default new forge DV-R, went through all the springs today >>

<center><img src="http://www.ttstuff.com/images/apc/FMDVR-PL_180.jpg"></center><p>green one... honking
yellow... fluttering
blue... fluttering

I have a chipped 180... my forge 006 DV w/ the blue spring worked fine and is currently in the car until I can remedy this noisy DV.

the directions suggest reversing the DV. I can't really try that cause I need a longer hose for the boost/vac nipple. (won't reach)

I thought this would just be a simple plug-n-play situation... but now it seems I have to purchase some hose to get this thing working right... why doesn't it come with the extra hose?

anyway... if anyone has any suggestions.. I would appreciate it.

Default hmm, another person with problems with this valve? The vibe on this forum was that the DVR was great

But that doesn't surprise me. There's so many things that people swear by on the forum that really suck...

For example:

Invinca-shield... I don't care how long you spend on it, the pieces are just cut wrong.

Zaino... maybe if your paint is perfect, but the Z5 doesn't do crap save hiding very light swirl marks, and I know I'm not doing it wrong. Good ole' 3M SMR works miracles compared to it. I'll admit Zaino's shine is great, but it doesn't last very long (as shown by the water-beading test).

Though, there are things I've tried that do hold true to their holiness:

Milltek exhaust is really wonderful, sounds great and the performance boost (everything else power-related is stock on my car) is very good

Valentine One .. enough said

Various car care products like Lexol, Vinylex, More Shine Less Time.

Come to think of it, of the products I've tried that I've heard about from this forum, those who swear by good products do so consistently, same goes for those who swear by crap products. (Edit... I realized this could come across as being directed towards Steve and, honestly, it's not)

Maybe its the different climates or altitudes ;-)

Just my opinion.

Default All you have to do is install it correctly.......

I told Andrew how to do it, as Forge recommends. Buying A $2 piece of hose is no reason to bitch about a product that works well for 95% of the cars out there....Several people in the past few weeks have had issues...Mostly spring selection or orientation solves the problem. Everybody's cars are just a little different though and it's often the car set-up that is the reason things don't sometimes work. What works well on my car may not on yours..

BTW, My Invinca shield was fine and I Just say NO to "Z" products....:-)

Default Had the same problem with the DVR. Steve is right. Green spring>

reversed. Did have to buy some extra tubing at hose techniques site. Excellent tubing. Also put my factory box/KN back in and pulled out the P.O.C. PES intake. Car is smooth and pulling like an ox. It does take some time to get it right but the more you work on your car the better understanding you'll have of what's going on under the hood. Steve why aren't you building TTDA's I can't wait to bolt that baby in.

Default Re: invincashield......you can always pay more.....

The stuff does need stretching at times and sometimes a trim especially after stretching areas. I use Invinca-shield because of the price compared to Stongard and others and so if I need to replace a panel it's easy and less costly to do myself. I'm sure Invinca-shield would be willing to revisit a kit that's cut wrong if they had the feedback.

Default it's worth it for the protection, but next time I'll pay someone to install it. Self-installation...

isn't at all foolproof like some would like you to believe, and I know I'm not the only one who's had trouble with the invinca-shield kit in particular. The pieces that come to mine as being really far off are the strip for around the grill and the headlight washers cutout.

And I did contact them about it and they were amazed that I had difficulty. They said the whole install shouldn't take more an two hours and that the TT is their best selling kit and they would know if the pieces weren't right. Again, I know I'm not the only person who's had problems with their cuts.
