When you get off the gas most of what is unburned hyrocardons go into the exhaust. It appears that
..the same vacum line that opens the DV valve is also opening a passage in the combination valve (we need a diagram of the inside)that is opening an air line from the air pump that rums to the cylimder head and though a cast in galley to the exhaust ports. This added oxigen is needed to burn the unused cumbustion charge. If anyone else has a better knowledge of this please help me out here. JIM

question to internet experts out there...
I've always wondered why vw/Audi would post their technical bulletins out on the Web. They're sort of airing the dirty laundry, let competitors know some things, etc. Given that the internet address starts with 'tech' and not 'www', does that maybe imply that their intentions were not to have it on the internet but on some intranet?
