Default New tire or tires!

Over the weekend I had a blowout of one of my tires. The car is a 2005 TT with 12k miles on it. Discount Tire said that because the TT is an all wheel drive that all four tires should be replaced! I declined and just replaced the bad tire but any thoughts? That was a first for me. Thanks to everyone.

Default it really depends on how worn the tires are...

do you have high-performance tires on the car? if you do, it's possible that the difference in tread depth between the old/new tires is significant enough to warrant replacing all 4.

i don't remember what the acceptable tread depth difference is according to Audi, but 4/32nds sounds right...

Default Re: it really depends on how worn the tires are...

Thanks for the info. I have the all season (fourseason) tires and very little wear. Think I'm O.K.?

Default have a tire shop measure the tread depth

of the old tires...

if the new/old are within 4/32nds i think you're fine..but maybe call your dealer and ask what the acceptable difference is..
