NEW TT COUPE FROM YEAR 2002 ????????

The big Audi Coupé will be based on a slightly shortened version of the coming A8 which is due in 2001. The coupé will follow about a year later - in summer 2002. Although its exterior design will very much remind of that of the current TT, the whole proportions will be different and the car will appear flatter and wider - longer it is anyway. The new big Audi Coupé will certainly be available with the new W8 and W12 engines to be introduced later this year. However, since Audi is one of the pioneers of the TDI technology and will soon have a variety of extremely fuel efficient and powerful Diesels in its range, it seems to be very likely that the new range of top-powerful direct-injection Diesel engines will be offered, too.

Heard plenty or rumours about it 6 months ago and no doubt it may go into production but I don't think the mock up in the picture does the idea any justice IMHO.

The next A4 means great news to 2+2 coupé lovers. This Coupé is meant for people who think that the TT is too extreme or too small. It seems to be able to compete very well with the BMW 3 coupé.

..seriously the TTS/STT should be the V6 version of the TT. I doubt very much Audi would use the TT name as per the current model for a new coupe targeted at the A8 model sector. My bet is on something like the A7....stands to reason...
A2...A3...A4...A6...A8....TT ...hmmmmmm :-)
