A new TT? Or something else...

the FACTS proved otherwise.
This is my last comment about the AMG 'slushbucket.' Keep your prejudices. You don't even know what you're missing, and perhaps ignorance is bliss to you.
An AMG is probably out of the price range gio was talking about anyway. It's $20K more than a TT.

out the car you already own, and plop down for a Stg 3 and have more power than any of the mentioned options, and you stay ahead of the curve for mods since you already have some. You will also be able to keep your MK1 arms etc... You could have some real fun with the car now!
I really like Aviator...I understand the fever for a new car tho'

Nov '01 builds are still showing up on the roads with brand new tags.
But humour yourself in any way you choose. They could all just be lousy drivers, too. (But again, that's a lot of lousy drivers driving them brand new M3s. And being beaten by a girl!!! Heavens.)

There are several reasons why I have now abandoned that idea:
- the car has been in 3 accidents. Hit twice while parked and rear-ended by a mustang a few weeks ago. The worst accident was over 3k in damage. The other 2 were 2k and 1k each. None of the times was the car fixed to my satisfaction. The panels don't line up right anymore. There is a noticeable paint spots or not quite matched colors. The last time the body shop didn't bother to remove the molding on top of the side window (too much work they said) when they painted and now the clear coat is chipping away.
- The engine overheated a few weeks ago. I had to have it towed. Turns out it was the water pump (it died). They fixed it but now my car flashes the check engine light. I reset it with my VAG tool only to have to come back. I'm taking it in Wednesday. It seems like it may have something to do with an incorrectly installed timing belt. I don't feel like I can trust the car anymore as the engine may have suffered damage when it overheated.
- I bought the car without knowing much about driving a manual transmission car or about owning a car in general. Thus, the clutch is probably worn more than it should be.
- I'm not happy with my Garrett chip. It has caused the engine to run awfully rich.
- I would like a six-speed transmission.
- I'd like to lose the "beanie"
- I'm going to put in Mk1 control arms and maybe even get de-spoilered.
- I am going to put a clear bra on my next car to prevent the paint chips.
Stage 3 would be great and I do plan on modding my new 225. Right now my garrett/borla exhaust 180TT is dynoed to not even be making 200hp.
I do love the aviator gray color, though I'm not sure if I won't try a new color.

Have you drive an S2000? If not, definitely take one for a good long test drive before deciding.
