newbie ? again, where is the 7th bose speaker? and its 225watt system?

the schematic shows a 5 channel amplifier for the Roadster. which 3 speakers are not amplified?
This is important for me, because I plan on replacing the head unit. However, I hear the Bose speakers are 1/2 ohm, so I'd have to replace the ones that directly connect to the Alpine deck I plan on putting in (or risk the Deck burning out).

Are you planning on having the deck run *all* speakers?
If you have the "bose upgrade" in the roadster, the front door speakers, the rears, and the sub-woff are run off the amp. I suspect that the center channel speaker in the dash is a tap from both 'positve' wires from the fronts.
In my car, the non-"bose upgrade" version, the front speakers are actually run from the built-in amp in the head unit, and are actually 4 ohm speakers. look closely here.

Are you planning them on running the reas speakers using the existing power amp?
That can be done.

Basically the plan would be to let the 5 channel amp power everything is was originally designed for
if there are any left over speakers that the stock head unit runs, let those get run by the Alpine. Someone on the audio board informed me that the bose speakers do NOT run at 4 ohms, not a problem if the Bose amp is powering them. Are you telling me the Bose amp really is running all 8 speakers (five channel amp or no)? This would make life a whole lot easier! Just run the Alpine's preouts to the amp and I'm money if that's the case.
Really, my ultimate goal here is to have an integrated MP3 player/XM radio in my car. If you have any better ideas on how to go about doing this, I'm all ears.

If you have the upgraded stereo, yes I believe the "bose" amp runs all the speakers...
Right, run the Alpine line-outs to the line-ins of the Bose system, like this.

For clarification, in my case with out the upgraded amp, the front doors speakers are run by the built-in amp in the head unit.
