Each time I go out of town on business and then see a TT while I'm driving that rental Taurus I get car sick. I hit some really nice backroads and think how much fun this would be in my
TT. I hit the exit and on ramps to I80 with really tight curves and think how much fun it would be in the TT. I get passed by an Integra or Porsche and would like to play a little tag. But I'm just driving that dork of a car called the Taurus.
I wonder if the person driving the TT ever is on this forum.
Today I was on my way from Parsippany to Mt. Arlington to eat at one of my favorite joints called Pub 199 and I see a red roadster and then a black coupe, both in Denville, NJ.
If you ever get up in Western NJ along I 80 and want a layed back place to eat lobster or steak really cheap, then exit north from I80 at the Mt. Arlington exit. You have to pay cash and there is no "no smoking", but you get 2 dozen steamers, 1.5lb lobster, and 3 beers for $23.00. You may have to wait a little but the waitresses are almost running.

i live about 10 minutes away from pub 199.. (close to the roxbury mall)
yes, good steamers, but mega white-trashville.
i find it a little disconcerting getting stared at by the townies at the bar haha.

I guess it was around 1994 and I was working in Hackettstown and living at the Mt. Arlington Sheraton. The folks there told me I needed to go up the hill and eat at the Pub. This was the winter that it snowed every Wednesday for 17 or 18 weeks in a row. When I got to the Pub there were nothing but trucks with plows in the lot, so I decided not to go in. Later in the early spring that year I went back and the gravel lot was full of truck and motorcycles. I go in and sit at the bar directly across from the door. At that time you got a massive steak, potato, and vegetable for $6.95 (its $9.00 now). When they brought it out I was amazed. They could have been killing people on the other side of the bar and I would never have known it. I've probably been there 20 times over the years and never disappointed.
You are right - white trash. If this were down south it would be trailer trash and rednecks.
However, folks have been more than nice to me.
Did you have to be on 53 or 46 around 6:30pm today. I'm staying at the Hilton and got a little turned around. Its been 7 years since I lived up there.

I'm not so sure about TTs, but I know S4s last an average of about 30 minutes in NJ before they're stolen... (only half kidding there - check the S4 board for the sad tales.)
