Default no set screw on rotor

I took off my wheels today. was going to paint the calipers. I noticed that there seems to be an area for a set screw to hold the rotor to the hub...turning the rotor i noticed. See image.

Now Ive been driving like this, the dealer changed the brakes about 7k ago. Should i put in a set screw. could that be causing the noise i hear while driving? any tips on removing that screw.

Default It's not absolutely necessary;it simply holds the rotor in place to position the wheel. Wheel lugs..

thghten this rotor down.
you noise is sumtin else.

If yuo want, you can alwas add in a screw, M6, socket head, flat head.

Default I had to mod my ECS 2-piece rotors to add a hole for the set screw.

As Jeff said, not really required but with dual drilled wheels, and spacers it's nice to at least have one component that doesn't spin and unalign all of the holes

Default No big deal......Go to Home Depot...>

And get an M6 x 1.0 tapered head phillips screw about 16mm long (In the hardware bins). Shouldn't have anything to do with your noise.

Default Ooops....>

You'd have to drill it out then, or pull the rotor and see if there's enough of a stub to grab with vice grips. I'd skip the whole deal for that hassle..

Default

The heads on those have a bad habit of stripping, so it doesn't surprise me.
