Default No Throttle Response - DBW Bug?

I know that this has been discussed before, from what I have read this sounds like a DBW programming bug, but I couldn't find anything saying if this was fixable.

The specific situation to which I am referring happened in my new (to me) 2001 225TT. I was starting up a highway onramp in 2nd gear and started to let off the clutch and press the throttle, but nothing happened (no acceleration) and the traction warning light came on. I was able to shift back to neutral and back to 2nd to get a response. This happened once before the ramp and once getting on the ramp, but not again the rest of the night (about 45 minutes of driving).

Default No DBW bugs that we're aware of...>>

You could have hit limp which means something else is wrong. Let us know if it happens again..

I forgot to say that the traction warning light also came on when I tried to accelerate.

Default Ya, then you probably hit limp mode...>>

Could be any number of thing. Only a Vag-Com plug in will tell us though until you get a CEL, then any Autozone can read the code for you...It's "usually" a bad MAF, but no guarantees..

OK, it was chipped (APR) recently and I also replaced the stock diverter valve (Forge) last week.

Default Here's what's probably happening...>

Whenever you chip, add an airbox etc. You're asking the MAF to work harder. If it's anywhere near marginal, these changes will push it over the edge. It is not supplying enough of a signal to support the new demands on fuel etc. That's 98% chance of what it is....

Default And remember that MAFs are warranted for 7/70

7 years, 70,000 miles as part of the emissions package.
