Noise and vibration when decelerating, anyone
I notice that when I decelerate and revs
drop below 3000 rpm on my 225hp TT there
is a pronounced engine noise (sounds like
backfire of some kind) and vibration from
the cabin. Anyone else notice this problem?
Noticeable particularly when decelerating from
high speeds in 5th or 6th gear.
It doesn't seem to detract from performance
in anyway, and if I step on the gas again
the noise goes away.

YES
I had the same problem a while back when I first got my car, and then it kind of went away. It just now started showing up again. I HAD thought it was only occuring when the A/C was on, but now it happens all the time.
A good test, is to get the car to 70mph in 6th gear. Let off the gas. I've made my car do it EVERY single time in this configuration. I am going to be talking to my dealer about it again very soon (tomorrow or Monday). I'll let you know if I find anything.

Re: YES
Thanks -- I look forward to hearing from you regarding what
your dealer says and does for the problem. It does sound exactly
the same as mine: 70 mph, 6th gear, never fails.
