Default Nokia MCC-4 phone adapter

My wife just purchased an '02 TT ALMS that came with the car phone setup and a Nokia MCC-4 adapter. She did not get any phone manual when we bought it used from a BMW dealer (she deceided on the TT instead of the Z4). What does it take to make use of this setup? Is it simple a matter of getting a compatable Nokia phone and attaching it to the cradle? I've searched this forum a little bit but I think my questions are more basic than what I found. The other cars that I have had required that you get the phone from the car manufacturer: ex. MB required that you get a Motorola V.60 that had proprietary MB firmware and I was somewhat restricted to which service provider I could use. It seems that the Audi setup is a little more flexible although I not sure. I asked on another post about adjusting the phone cradle back out of the way of the shifter and someone replied (very quickly btw, thanks) that it was not adjustable. They mentioned that I would have to remove it completely if I wanted it out of the way. It looks like I would have to remove the passenger seat to get to the aluminum brackets holding the cradle. I would think there would be an easier way but maybe not. Thanks again for any suggestions.

Default Yes, you hafta remove the passenger seat to remove the phone cradle...

It's easy, 4 8mm bolts.
As for the phone, what is a "Nokia MCC-4 Adapter"?
Is it anything like this?

does it look like the phone actually plugs into this?
where is the adapter located?
It may be just that you ned to plug in the phone to the adapter.

Default I installed one of these without removing the seat...

You need an allen wrench preferably with a 90 degree bend and a small hex ball on one end.

It is a bit slow but you can remove the phone holder using the short end of the allen wrench by making short turns.

I did too - make sure the seat is in the low position and as far back as it will go

I looked at doing this also, but decided removing the seat was more fun. :-)

Jeff,
It does look like the picture you posted but it did not come with the actual phone. Do you know if Audi requires a special phone directly from them or can you use any Nokia phone? Thanks again for you quick reply. I'm also trying to decipher the option codes that are listed in the maintenance booklet. There does not seem to be any postings for the TT model. Can you point me in the right direction?
thanks,
jp

Default In this case, I simply did a 'google' search on Nokia MCC-4. I found this

The MCC-4 must just be the actual cradle itself. In my wife's car, this cradle is hardwired into the center console. I'm not sure where it goes to after that. I'm assuming that its integrated into the car stereo for auto mute and speaker output. I still don't know whether I could use any Nokia phone or if it requires a special Audi phone. I will check with the original Audi dealer tomorrow to see if they know. Thanks again for all your suggestions.
