Default Does anything else work with the aux port?

Maybe a stupid question, but is the volume on the iPod ALL the way up? It doesn't use line levels so the HU might not be detecting a high enough signal. You should be able to hear *something* with the levels cranked up on both sides.

Of course you RTFM for the HU, right? You may have to enable it somehow, or it's got a separate volume maybe?

Default No, tried portable CD player and Ipod. I will replace the

wire that connects the Ipod to the aux Jacks and see what happens. The HU has a feature that allows you to scroll for the different imputs, does not see an input at the aux jacks. Thanks for the reply

Default Yes you are correct. For some reason however it does

not see that there is a device plugged into the aux jacks. At least that's what I think is happening. I of course am among the electronically challenged, and could be wrong. There is a button that is used to scroll through options for listening; Tuner, CD, Standby and Aux. Every thing is available but Aux, that's with Ipod plugged in and at full volume. So anyhow, thanks for the reply I will take car trim off and recheck connections not sure what else to do. I appreciate the time you took to help on this matter.

Default It doesn't care if anything is plugged in, or even if there's a signal...

You need to use the menu system to turn Aux On, so it can be selected.

<b>RTFM.</b>

1 Enter Menu mode
Press the [MENU] button for at least 1 second.
"MENU" is displayed.

2 Select the menu item
Press the [FM] or [AM] button.
Example: When you want to set the beep sound
select the "Beep" display.

3 Set the menu item
Press the [|&lt;&lt;] or [&gt;&gt;|] button.
...
Function of the KDC-MPV8025
Built-in Auxiliary input Setting
Set the Built-in Auxiliary Input function.
Display Setting
"AUX OFF" When selecting the source there's no Auxiliary Input.
"AUX ON" When selecting the source there's Auxiliary Input.

Quick Reply: Non Audi Head Unit Question. I installed a new radio/cd/mp3 player
