Default Not 100% happy with my VDO Boost Gauge.

It works great and is fun to watch. (I'm actually spiking up to about 16psi with just a TTDA and a Forge DV.)

But the color is weird. It's really yellowish, doesn't match the dash very well. Is something wrong? I thought everyone said this one was a perfect match...

And on occasion, under full boost, when I release the throttle suddenly, the gauge will buzz/rattle. WTF is that about?

I know I voted for DEFI - not VDO.

Default Lots of the VDO gauges buzz and rattle in combination with the 1.8T>>

didn't have that problem with the VDO boost gauge in my old Corrado, but I do now. It's widely discussed on the 1.8T forum on the Vortex, so it's not an isolated problem. Some have found that putting a small filter inline of your boost tubing will smooth out the air flow oscilllation and cure the problem, didn't work for me. Mine rattles under full boost. I've almost grown to like it, though. It sounds sort of like a rattlesnake, and it's an audio reminder that I am getting into some serious boost, and probably speed as well!

Default Well is there a gauge that matches PERFECTLY at NIGHT? or no...

I can deal with the ratteling, but the yellowness is not tolerable.

Default AWE tuning gauge matches close IMO - but I like the reddish orange

of the Defi better as I've had both. AWE gauge is smaller diameter though.

Default AWE is best match, Delfi matches center dash, click my sig............>

for more boost gauge displays. Scroll down to the bottom of my links page and you will see lots of different installs for different types of boost gauges.

Default the "T" splitter that came with the AWE boost gauge had a little brass reducer

to get rid of that buzzing sound. you should look into it. i don't think its a VDO gauge problem.
