Default Not your average "diverter valve" and a question >>>

Car is in at the stealer since yesterday and I am already in TT withrawal

Its in for an AC fix ... was blowing luke warm/cool air instead of cold air as it should. Dealer had checked it for leaks a few weeks ago and recharged the system, but that just lasted a couple of days. So she was back at the dealer yesterday.

They called and said that the "diverter valve" in the AC system (on the passenger side in the engine compartment towards the firewall) was leaking and that they have overnighted one. Hopefully I will get DerTT back today.

My question to you is, what is this DV they speak of?

Tx.

Default It's the valve that controls the high pressure to low pressure interface.

It's not called a diverter valve rather an expansion valve (AKA an 'orifice tube'), it regulates flow into the evaporator from the high pressure condenser side of the system.
