This being 3k miles since my last oil change at 40k. &lt;G&gt;

At least I know the car's workin!

Have a drain in your intercooler? If you're not smoking, your PCV system may be dumping a bit there

Default I believe I read somewhere in this board that your car actually "consumes" oil...

so you end up adding every now and then.

Default what weight of oil are you using?

mine did this with 5w30 but not with 5w40

I use 5w-30 and mine does not consume any oil.

Some do, some don't. I've never had to add a drop between oil changes

Default Manual/Audi states we are to be using 5w-40 oil ...

Why are you using a non-approved oil in your Audi?

Default it says you can use 5w-30 if 5w-40 is not available, which it was not

when I did my last change, I also use Mobil 1. thinking of switching the the Amsoil european car 5w-40 at my next change.
