November 3rd & it's off to Texas for ESP for my 2000 180 fwd. I hope this is the right thing.

the odds are very low that anything bad will happen to your car while it's on its trip...
and having esp is certainly a good thing (you can always turn it off). i wish i could have done it -- but switching out the chip and stereo and turning off lojack was just oo much!
you've done the right thing (imho).

What month did they start making ESP standard? And how
much does it cost to retrofit, including shipping? I'm trying to decide between a new and used coupe, and this may be the deciding factor. Thanks

Became "standard" with build week 17 of this year. Retrofit is...
$550 plus tax (AoA eats the cost to have car transported to Houston and AoA supplies a loaner car).
The fine print is that you must contact AoA at the "ESP Hotline" (877) 354-2834 by Oct. 31st 2000 to get the retrofit.

Definite Safety Issue
Audi is shipping my car from the West Coast to Houston, renting me a replacement vehicle...Grand Cherokee for $45/day and having the ESP installation done by a crew brought in from Germany. I figure the cost to AoA has to be in the neighborhood of $4,000. THey are charging us $525. They would not offer this deal unless they were worried about their liability for safety issues with the TT driven at high speeds.
