Now that I have my car back, the headlights seem to aim too low.

I already searched the forum on adjusting the headlights yourself. Most say you need a vag-com. I don't have one, would I be able to manually adjust the screws to aim them higher?

Default Check your rear auto leveler

The black plastic piece has a habit of breaking. Did you have any suspension work done by any chance?

Default it already had a crack in it from when I adjusted the rear

but it didn't break or anything. i will have to check that. i am pretty sure the headlights slightly move when i turn them on with the car. doesn't that mean the auto-leveling is active?

Default mine was cracked and working fine, and fell apart later...

an easy repair with epoxy or super glue

Default you can aim them manually ...

if you open the hood, you'll see a slot that's just big enough for a screw driver to fit in. (near/on the headlight)

i forget which way makes them go up or down though :-(

Default Ummmm-- careful

not one but TWO Audi techs told me not to do that without first somehow using the VAG tool (or VAG-COM) to somehow "disengage" the motor. They said I could break the adjuster mechanism otherwise.

Default You need a Vag-Com to set it into adjusting position....

then after you adjust it - then you "set" the position with the Vag Com.
