US vanity plates are not governed by format restrictions such as those in the UK....
Most states allow pretty much any combination of letters and numbers up to the state-permitted maximum (varies by state,7 in Florida), as long as it's not deemed offensive. Well, the reason that I want hoTTub is for a couple of reasons..
1)because it has 2 *T*'s in it
2)because some of the ole' 356 racers where known as tub racers, and I feel that the TT has the same *feel* as a 356
3)it is my *handle*
its one hottub

CT for example requires that numbers come before letters and any number will be seperated with a .
You couldn't have H0TTUB in CT.
It is all letters
ABCDEF
all numbers 123456
or 123.ABC
or ABC.DEF
I know HoTTub isn't in CT, but different states have different rules.
Most states have a DMV website.
