Default odd coolant temp sensor...
i pulled the coolant temp sensor today, hoping to replace with one of the two listed as for my ATC motor. nope. it used one thats common on the earlier Jetta's and 00-01 beetles.

part number 191919369a

has a flat sensor side, no intruding probe, and a two lead connector. just thought i'd share

Those get replaced with a more expensive part, the green sensors aren't compatible

Default Just changed one on a 99 B5 and went from blue to black. .....
Dealer said it was an entirely new type sensor. Cost nearly $25.
