Default Odd. Is Tirerack always this good a deal?

Goodyear shop across the street said the Eagle F1's were $198 a piece. Originally quoted me in the $850 range for everything.

On tirerack.com, tires only w/ shipping are $550.

Assuming mounting and alignment isn't $300, are shops always like this (the markup, I mean)?

:-)

Default Tire Rack is good ......BUT.....be sure you are comparing

apples to apples, Goodyear has a habit of different specs in the same size on the same name tire.......careful!
Example......Tire Rack has 3 flavors of 225x45x17 F1 GsD3's listed.

Default Costo, is sometimes the same price or a bit cheaper . . .

A couple of months ago, I ordered a set of tires from Costco that were about $10 less than TireRack, and that included installation. (Of course it would be helpful if I could remember exactly which tires I purchased, but that may be too much to as for--I'm getting old!)

Anyway, Fredric, I guess the more important point is that TireRack can be a bit more expensive.

Default true. i guess i'm just leary of this shop now.

i went up there, in person, to ask for an exact quote on my car a couple of weeks ago. the lady came out, looked at the sizes, and gave me a quote in the $850 range for the exact f1 all seasons.

now, the guy on the phone tells me 'there is no way it was that cheap'.

his own website has the tires listed at $170, even though he said it was $198 for him.
