Default Oh great.. Steering issues.

I ran to Sonic tonight and as I pull into the stall I hear a whine as I turn... Both in gear and out of gear, pretty low speeds by the way, I can't hear it when I'm over about 5mph.

I just got the car back from the dealer where they checked over everything and "topped everything off"

I had my clutch done including the flywheel, haldex service and got a new serpentine belt.

Anyone think this is linked?

I did a search and I read that Mr. Schwing ran his PS out of fluid and drove like that for 300 miles with no problems. I'm hoping this isn't serious. Here I am a DAY BEFORE I PURCHASE THE GIAC CHIP and my car starts making noises.

Here we go again.

Default ps fluid is easy enough to check.

it's the green cap under the engine cover that surrounds the coolant reservoir.

One screw.
One cover.
One cap.

Default Those willing to help, please read...

As I stated earlier, I had my clutch replaced and also the serpentine belt. Before that my car never had this issue.

Would they have to empty the P/S system during this change, could that be why its low. Upon reading a few sites I see the Pentosin mineral (goo2000) oil should not get low, if it gets low I have a leak.

So, I'm obviously hoping that they just didn't put enough into the system that way I know I don't have a leak.

Anyone know if the service my car had would include ditching the PS fluid for new?

I need to buy TT's for dummies.

Default Just get some Pentosin and top it up...>>>

if it's low. This pops up every now and then, especially as the cars start to age..

Default I'm not sure if the serpentine belt is attached to the steering pump but if it is...

maybe an adjustment is necessary. Also, if you take it to this dealer & have problems after you leave you may want to think about another place to service your car.I would recommend you find a competant shop. I've had so many negative experiences with dealers I tend to think they all stink. I know there are some good ones out there.
