Default $7 Bucks/qt! Ouch!

Buy Mobil 1 @ Walmart or Costco (by the case) - much better prices.
If you have low miles, you can just stick with the dealer oil @ N/C until later (20K miles?).

Default I USED to use them in my truck until I got talked out of it...(long)

Look at it this way; if those were so great, why don't the oil companies sell them? (Mobil, for instance) I recall a study done by Briggs and Straton (sp?) or some such small engine company, where, they tested a bunch of engines with and without some "super lubricant oil additive" and it turned out that the additive didn't make a difference. (i.e. all of the engines still ran after the oil was drained from the pan, regardless of whether an additive was present). They also advised not using additives containing Teflon. The reasoning is, the Teflon molecules would, for some reason, clog the small oil passages of the engine over time. (something to do with heat degradation, and the particles settling out of the oil). AFAIK, the only research out there that *supports* the claims of the additive manufacturers has been sponsored by the additive manufacturers.

Default I use Amsoil, because it has tested better.

That is also why I became a distributor. They were the first and redline is even old engineers from amsoil.

Default Don't add anything to your oil. Here is a long but informative article about engine oil.
