Default Oil change and timing belt

Called dealer said oil change and basic checkup would be around $35 + oil, filter etc. Good deal?

Also asked about timing belt. They said it needed to be done around 70-80k. Funny right? Said that would cost around $500, that's a good deal right?

One Audi dealer here charges $190 for oil change using synthetic oil. Another dealer charges about $90 plus tax for a total of $93 and change on a discount special for preferred customers.

Timing belt for $500 seems a good price. It would be $1,500 in Oakland or Marin County.

Default Be careful of those "around" and "about" estimates....

Both sound VERY low from a dealership...

Yeah, I'd say those prices are very low for services at dealer. Sounds like parts, no labor.

Royal Motors (SF) quoted me $1200 including labour for W/P and T/B this morning.
