Default Oil Filter part # change?

After doing a search on this website, I saw that the part number for the oil filter is 068115561B. I was going to order some online... But I just saw some messages on a Passat related website that the 068115561B filter has changed to a bigger size (new part number 068115561B).

Has the TT oil filter part number and size changed? Anyone have any info on this? Can anyone recommend a good place to get oil filters online or in person in the So. Cali area?

Default Tis true, the filters they are using now are bigger, even on the A4's I've noticed....

has something to do with the oil sludge issue and the fact they extended warranty coverage for that particular issue in all 1.8T's. You should of gotten a nice little letter from AoA regarding the problem, the extended warranty coverage which goes out to 8 years I think, and also a sheet which shows all the recommended oil brands and weights they recommend to prevent the issue. In any case yes you're right, they are bigger and a different part # now. Just not sure what the new part # is. I just had my shop do an oil change for me last week.

Can you check your post? The new part number you listed is the same as the old one.

Default Oops, here are the two numbers

06A115561B for the old...

068115561B for the new...

I've included the link to the other post I'm referencing. The reason why I ask is because I seem mostly the old part number on websites selling TT oil filters. I'm not sure if I should be looking for the new oil filter.

http://www.passatworld.com/forums/showthread.php?s=8f22c801f044d76543a7bd066da5e6c7& amp;p=921728</a
