Oil Filter Part Number

2001 TT225...I am trying to change my oil, got all the old oil drained, I have my OEM filter (06A 115 561 B), have the cap wrench, went to take the old one off, and it's WAY bigger than the new one. Did they change the size or anything? Thanks!

Some are sized differently, still OK to use.

The larger one is for the longitudinal 1.8T due to sludge problem on that motor>>

since it has a smaller sump. It works fine on the transverse 1.8T but is not necessary.
