oil in intake?

Default oil in intake?

i was swapping out hoses today and i noticed that on the intake side connected to airbox its all nice and dry, but on to other side of the engine (down from the turbo) i found some oil ..just a little on the inside mind you, in the hose. where is this from? my turbo? i dont' think this is good....

Default actually, this is good.... dry on the intake side means your crankcase ventilation

isn't leaking. Oil in the charge side is normal. The turbo's main bearing is pressure fed, and a little oil gets past the seals apparently. I pull my FMIC and run some solvent through it occasionally (Spring cleaning, prepping for Summer, when the load on the intercooler is highest) and clean the hoses at the same time. The notion being: some of the oil accumulates in the hoses, but a portion of it is coating the inside of your intercooler(s) too. Your guess is as good as mine on the pecentages, but oiling isn't a plus for intercooler efficiency!
