Default OK guys....I have a problem with my radio that I need help with...PLEASE!!!!

Yesterday my radio would not turn on. The whole screen was slighty lit up, but there were no numbers or anything being displayed. I tried turning it off and on but nothing would work. So my buddy and I yanked the head unit out in order to disconnect the power from it and reset it. We did this...the radio came back to life, but now is in safe mode. I began to fiddle with the radio before reading the directions to disable safe mode. I held in the two buttons (forget which ones they are) apparently for too long because in the directions in the owners manual it sayd..."under no circumstances hold the buttons longer than when the display begins to blink" which is exactly what I did. Now the radio still says "safe" and it does not respond to anything. I tried disconnecting the headunit again but still doesnt work. please tell me there is a way to fix this.(hope this isnt too confusing)

Thanks guys,

Adam

Default SAFE mode...

Sounds like your radio is locked. There should be a 4 digit code or something that you enter to unlock it. I know VW's have this, and the number is on a panel behind the rear seat. Now clue where it might be on the TT.

Default I think that after you screw up the code entry...>>>

You have to wait like 24 hours before you can give it another shot. Was like that on my Honda....
Read the manual, I think it's in there....

Default Don't PANIC

The dealer can get your code from Audi in Germany by using your vin#. They just E-Mail and wait for a response. The factory number is located on a card in the radio manual, you were supposed to remove it and file it somewhere safe. That is what my dealer told me to do with mine, but I forgot where i filed it so they had to get it for me.
