Default Join the Carolina quattro listserv!!!

We have quite a good group of Audi owners in the Triangle area who can help you with all of your questions. Marcus usually comes out to the meets and it'd be great to have some more TT's!

Default Went to school at Duke and in-law's live in Raliegh

you want to choose where you live based on where you will be working. traffic around the triangle is a disaster though local traffic is bearable. pat is right cary/north raleigh is yuppy zone, very crowded and pricey.

chapel hill/durham near duke forest can be much better values though commuting to RTP from there is nightmarish (40 is a parking lot at rush hour). Be warned it's a small town compared to Boston - that could either be a good thing or bad thing depending on your POV.

I enjoyed my college years though there is limited night life outside of the college areas of town (either raliegh, chapel hill or durham).

Default 40 sucks, but the Durham freeway to RTP isn't nearly as bad...

depending, of course, on where you live and work.

Default Thanks Todd...Good Info...I'm ready for a small town atmosphere...I'm over the big city thing.

If I want city...I'll drive or fly somewhere. :-)

Default I'll be working in RTP and would like to live relatively nearby...

Just don't know if I want to be closer to Raleigh or Durham...Probally Durham...Wake Forest, maybe?

Default Marcus, see below re: beerfest VVVVV

Default FYI....People who move to NC rarely want to leave....>>>

Cost of living, climate etc will be much nicer than the Boston Gig. I've done the big city too (Phila, LA, Atlanta) and it's better here. One of the guys who used to work for me and has lived all over the country spent a few years in the R/D area then moved to LA. Of all the places he's lived, here was his favorite. He's retiring early and moving back. For what it's worth!

Default Amen, man.

I spent two years there in grad school and would love to move back. The only thing that may ruin it is all these people moving there

Seriously, I had a job interview with a big wig at the NC Dept of Environment, Health, and Natural Resources a few years ago. Her opinion of the biggest environmental problem facing the state: not the hog farms or the dead fishes in the Neuse River ... urban sprawl.
