Ok, so I have a P1128, (bad MAF), how do you suggest asking the dealer?

Do I just have to tell them I read the code myself, it's a MAF, please replace the MAF under the 7/70 Emissions Warranty on my 2001 QC?

Suggestions? Has anyone had to do this

Default Sure, tell them. My tech/dealer knows I use a VAG-COM. Last time, I just went to the parts guy.

Since we are on a first-name basis anyway, I just bought a new MAF, he took back the old one and refunded me my new MAF cost.

At any rate, find a good service tech.
Tell him you scanned for the code, systematic of a bad MAF.
Ask them to do the same.
Ask them to replace the MAF.
See if that clears the problem.

Default They'll need to verify..>>

So don't clear the code. Also go in with a stock airbox in place, otherwise they'll have an excuse to deny you...

They'll have to diagnose, but politely mention you've already seen the error code.

Default CTS as in Cadilac??

Put a reader on it and hit the clear button! If you haven't fixed the underlying problem though it will come back...
