I've heard all the opinions, now it's time to make a decision. Here's my thoughts:
I want a lower stance, maybe 1-2 inches, and better handling. But I drive the car in the snow so was thinking adjustable coilovers the whole way so I could go normal ride height in the winter. Then I started reading about how coilovers handle and ride much worse than your basic spring/strut combo. If you were me what would you do?

compliant what the car should have come from the factory with. Only down side is that it only will lower the car a little over an inch.

Drive in snow all winter (northern Michigan), wanted the car lowered, was gonna get adjustable coilovers.
BUT, they're kind of a pain, require very precise adjustments using tools/skills that few shops have (none in my area at least) (corner balancing, etc.), and after you finally have it adjusted right, you wouldn't want to go messing with it to "raise" it for the winter.
After a lot of searching and discussions here, I went with the ABT springs from Stratmosphere (Pete and crew), which are apparently similar/identical to the Eibach springs, and Bilstein Sport struts from Shox.com (Darryl and crew).
I had these installed and an alignment done at my dealer before I ever picked up the car (along with an armrest from Strat also).
I think that the combination is perfect. Excellent handling, nice drop (about an inch), but not too low for snow. I think lower than that with a lot of snow and you're gonna be at the diy carwash spraying out the wheel wells every day. As it was this winter, during peak snow (3-4"+/day), I was there once a week cleaning out the wheel wells. This suspension setup if anything *helped* in the snow for the same reason it helps during an autocross or all year long: the car is better glued to the road. Just make sure you have snow tires on, as with any TT in snow. Or at least some Nokian WR all seasons.
Also, the ride is excellent, I think at least as comfortable as stock, and probably better. An excellent compromise with ride quality, lowering, and handling.
Cheers,
Rich

the car feels much more planted to the road, and doesnt float on hop on the freeway like it does stock.
as far as ride quality, i just drove x-country 3200 miles in 6 days in the TT, and only had complaints about my driving, not the car![Wink](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
i think that should put to rest the harsh ride comments.
heres a pic from before i left the eastcoast.
the rear is all the way down and fronts are set to a nice height w/o too much rake
