Default Only dealer knows how to do alignment on the TT?...

installed 4 new tires at Firestone, then they were checking alignment, and it was out of alignment, but computer said they needed a special tool to fix it, which they didnt have.
Your experience??

Default Firestone sucks... take it to a good alignment shop... anyone can do it, not just dealer..

Default Only my 2002 TT needed realignment...>>>

That was after dealer replaced a clutch slave cylinder and the tranny was out and the wheels off, etc.

Dealer did it for free under warranty.

My 2000 TT and my 2004 TT have not needed realignment, tires wore and wear fine, cars handled and handle well.

So, it may be that only dealer or an Independent shop that has invested in buying the correct tool can do it.

If I were you, I would contact the Audi Club in your area and find out who does TT alignment.

BTW, Audi will do one alignment under the 4-year 50,000 mile warranty, so if you are still on warranty, try getting a warranty alignment for no cost.

Default there are special tools, but it can be done without-- you need a shop that knows this chassis

for example, without the special tool to tweak the rear toe one must loosen the trailing arm bolts and "adjust" the position with a hammer, tighten bolts, re-check toe, repeat until in spec.
