Default opinion time: how much alcantara is too much?

i've been pondering having the plastic surround for the rear window wrapped in alcantara since as it stands it's too easy to scratch due to a tall item in the trunk.

while i've got the shop's attention, i figured i should take care of any other objects worth wrapping. i was contemplating having the leather door pulls and knee bolsters switched to soul alcantara as well (would match the seat inserts, headliner, pillars, visors, and e-brake handle). the result would leave the seat shells, steering wheel and door inserts black leather, and convert everything else to alcantara. what do folks think -- too much alcantara? personally, my current thinking is that the door pulls would be nice, but the knee bolsters would take it overboard.

to assist, here's a photo showing the contrast between the soul alcantara and leather:

ps. i have extra door pulls and bolsters handy, so i can always try it and then remove 'em later -- but no sense in having folks do useless work.

Default I think...

There's no such thing as too much. Except where you know you'll feel the need to replace those parts subject to wear and tear...the door pulls primarily. Have you considered going with aluminum for those instead?

It would continue make the interior of your car look nice. However my opinion, keep the knee boslters in leather and cover the door pulls in alcantara. Keep in mind from what I have seen and heard, alcantara tends to wear off and door pulls are always in contact so they might look bad after a while.

Default wow, hadn't seen that pic before. some parts i love, some parts i hate

that steering wheel is beautiful (would love to do a two-tone like that with alcantara at the bottom), as is the e-brake handle. i dig the punched leather bolsters too, but they look bad in that photo because they're too close to the alcantara-wrapped dash. i think the dash would've looked better in leather. that full-screen setup makes a great nav/stereo combo and is very smoothly integrated.

at the other end of the spectrum, those door speakers look terrible, as does the ******* shift **** at pick-up truck height.

just imho ;-)
