Default oscillating sound from engine

my car's engine started making a noticeable oscillating sound.

i had it looked at, and audi service said that the tensioner is causing this noise.

is this common with TTs?

How many miles are on your car? We're changing at 60K.

Default The tensioner is very common, yes. Absolutely get it fixed, though - if it dies...

... your timing belt will slip and destroy the engine.
