Default Osir Telson Rear Spoiler Removal? MarTT??

Thinking of purchasing the Telson rear spoiler for my roadster and was wondering if I would be able to remove it easily without destroying the paint if I needed to. Any ideas for such an adhesive?

I ran a search and know MarTT did this, but I am wondering how hard was it and did he have to repaint his stock rear spoiler?

Finally, I got my spacers on! What a difference!

Default Here is my plan.... :-)

When the open air thing gets out of my system, I am planning to swap the roadster out for a coupe. I really like the look of the coupe *much* better than the roadster, but then there is the wind in my hair thing.... --lol.

So, should I swap cars out, I want to be able to take my mods with me. Make sense?

Default Don't plan on being able to remove it if you put it on correctly...>>

Unless you stick it on with double sided tape (which prolly won't work). I'd plan on writing that one off if you put it on..

Nice plan but lacks experience, Once you experience the roadster, you will keep it.

Default Well, I'd like to think I didn't do any damage when I removed it;

but I suggest not putting it on in the first place if you have doubts. A heat gun and fishing line and some patience helped remove the Telson, but still the fishing line did some damage to the paint (from sawing back and forth - bad). Also, the black glue remains adhered to the underneath part of the spoiler and it took me a full day (really) to get that off using 3M adhesive remover.

If I do have the rear repainted, I'm considering having the spoiler removed and going with the smooth butt. (No going back on that one.)

Default Smooth butt? No! Ya need some tail to hang on to! --LOL!

Seriously, I undestand the whole simplicity thing, nice lines, etc... but don't you think the TT looks better with a tail? Perhaps not the standard OEM tail, but a rear spoiler kinda like what TTschwing has is pretty sweet (sshhhh --just don't tell him).

Thanks for the response. Sounds like I may have to wait on the rear spoiler unless I decide I am going to keep my roadster. I love driving the car and I am for all kinds of topless things, but the round rear end and lack of the contour lines racing back created on by the roof really bug me sometimes when I look at the car. IMO looks kinda "girly" to me from certain angles! :-o!

Default Yeah, I like the smooth butt look, just too chicken to get it done.
