Default OT Again - A classic moment!

While I'm here I have to share this moment with you. Today, we were having a project review meeting with all members of my company and one of the guys was telling us about his hotel room at a recent business trip to Kuwait. He said how good it was that he could surf the web on the TV in his room. Another chap said "yeah, but what's the point if it's all in Arabic?". Hey, I'm not over-streetwise myself but I'll never let him forget that comment!

Default *raises hand*

Not having used a browser in a different alphabet-encoding country, but if someone didn't change the settings aren't I correct in assuming all you would see is garbage? The browser would try to interpret "Farsi-ISO blah blah blah" and screw up english character encoding.

If you don't believe me, try to look at a japanese site or a chinese site that is using their own encodings with your english browser.
