Default That doesn't make any sense when your just subtracting 4x from 48x....

...because that's illogical even from a basic math perspective, but maybe some people think if it that way.

Default I know that! I was correcting Hack THS's original thread.

I didn't want him to make a purchase decision on incorrect logic.

https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/660829.phtml</a

Default D'oh! You can't go expecting me to read the ORIGINAL THREAD!

Besides, I'd be surprised if he thought the 4X actually meant 4 times when used in that context, although Tom isn't all that bright. (j/k Tom)

Default Let's just get technical for a second and quantify the difference >>>

44x is 6,600 KB/s
48x is 7,200 KB/s

That's a difference of 600 KB/s. That's 36,000 KB/min.

Now assuming a 700 MB CD-R and perfect efficiency, and using the 1,024 KB = 1 MB theory, that means:

48x can burn a full 700 MB in 99.5555~ seconds.
44x can burn the same in 108.6060~ seconds.

So, the argument here is over a difference of ~9 seconds to burn a full 70 MB CD.

lol...

Default True, but also take into consideration the time to close the CD..

And also the fact that often times for music this speed doesn't work well for some reason.
