Default According to the manufacturer, WD-40 contains NO kerosene...

nor silicone, water, wax, graphite, chlorofluorocarbons. Surprise!

Default They have been saying that for years . . .

when you compare the two they evaporate at the same rate, have the same smell and work exactly the same! That is also why WD-40 is so cheap, kerosene is cheap to purchase in such a massive quantity.

Default I have a close friend who is a chemist. He agrees with Larry for a lot of the same

reasons. Flammability is the same as kerosene, too.

It's a great marketing flimflam!

Default It is also not a very good lubricant .. .at least for long term lubrication . . .

evaporates way too fast! Amazing marketing department though.
