Default OT: I need a simple DV editing + DVD Burning piece of software....

Ok here is the deal....
I am building my mother a computer, she needs a new one. Since my father bought his G4 Mac and my sisters do their editing on that, she wants to have the option also.

So here is the deal... I need a simple piece of software (easy to use) that also have the ability to burn the finished movie to DVD. All video will be from our DV camcorders, and most music will be MP3 or CD based.

I really do not need comments like get a Mac or something, since a Mac with the same stats is 2x as expensive. There is no need for a debate, since everyone uses a PC in my family.... PC is a better solution. My dad only dabbles with his Mac, so no argument there.

Recap: looking for a simple user interface editing program with DVD burning capabilities of the finished movie. By the way, the movie must be able to be read in set top boxes.

Default Ulead DVD Movie Factory

I've used their Media Studio Pro 5.2 and this is a less expensive new product. Their software is pretty good and updated regularly.

Ulead

Get an iMac. ;^) Sorry, couldn't resist. They're a great deal @ $100 more than last week! :-/

Default even if I did a mac I would go all out with a Dual 1Ghz G4, etc

or the titanium laptop. Just not my bag, neat but not worth the money

Default I second this. It's easy and ahas enough features. Tom when you

say "set top box" do you mean DVD player". For that you need to burn SVCD's and that's not easy. My boss and I have been trying to figure out an easy way to do this for 6 months. We got the editing down, just the burning so a DVD player can read it is problematic.

I run it on XP. XP Rulz.
