LOS ANGELES, December 4 - Red light runners beware. More cameras are coming to a stop light near you.
Police officials say eight more cameras will be installed around Los Angeles in the next four months to catch drivers in the act of running a red light.
They will join the eight mounted earlier in January.
Police say the eight intersections armed with cameras have produced 12-thousand red light tickets since January, and they have noticed a drop in violations at five of the eight locations.
In comparison, the city's other 43-hundred intersections only produced 25-thousand red light tickets over the same period.

They are right in one sense. A lot of traffic lights around LA have been changed to LED's (the red and green lights) to save energy. LED's come on or turn on much much quicker than regular incandescent bulbs so it's not the law enforcement's doing.
