Default Delbeek & Sprung's The Reef Aquarium (TRA) Vols 1 & 2 are "THE" bible when it comes to reefs...

Also Niels Fossa (sp?) has a multi-volume set that is also loaded with info.

Default Let me commend you on reading first... here you go:

"The Reef Aquarium" Volumes one AND two by Charles Delbeek and Julian Sprung. These are bibles of reefkeeping. They don't go into step by step for setup, but are fantastic books for just about everything else.

"The Marine Aquarium Handbook" by Martin Moe Jr. is pretty good for the fish side of things.

Also, read the <A HREF="http://groups.google.com/groups?oi=djq&amp;as_ugroup=rec.aquaria.marine.ree fs">rec.aquaria.marine.reefs</A> forum

There are bunches of other good books as well... search the reef forums for book opinions.

Minimum setup I would consider is 55 gallons... but bigger is better to some extent. I've spent $100 per gallon on my tank, so keep in mind this is a challenging and VERY expensive hobby.
