Default How about the Impreza WRX wagon?

Blazing performance, killer handling. Almost as much room as the Forester. Only a little more $ than the Forrester S.

Default While the performance is VERY desireable, I feel that there's not enough room...

...and since it's a performance car (for a Subaru), I'd probably end up fussing over it like the TT and hanging out on an Imprezza WRX forum like here. LOL!

I need something that I can abuse a little bit without having to worry.

And this model is not out yet, correct?

Default It is supposed to be available next month.

Your mileage will vary, but...

I felt it had nearly as much room as the Forester myself. The Subaru sight gives the Forester 32 cubic feet with seats up and 63 down. The Impreza wagon gets 25.5 and 62.1.

As for performance, it has the pedegree to be better than the TT. Lower weight, world rally car handling, 227 HP. I've yet to read a comprehensive review of the US spec car, but I expect it to give any TT a run.

If I can figure a way to justify it, I'll be getting on as my second car.

Good luck, whichever you choose.

Default BTW, CRV highly rated too.

Have some personal experience driving CRVs (several friends have them). It's suprisingly fun as long as you've got the manual tranny. Total pig with automatic.

Default I think the Forester is THE most common car in Oregon! It was our choice . . .

before Craig got a car bonus and we went for the A4 Avant.

Default Check out either r/t or c&d - did very good review of small suvs - rated Forrester 3rd...

after the Escape/Tribute twins. I will be looking for something similar and will also be considering the new Jeep Libery this summer. However, I am trying to convince the wife to look at a used LR Defender 90.
