Of course I may be a bit biased. I absolutely loved the first one and have been to many of the places where it was filmed. As far as it being too gorey, ignore that claim. I have seen a lot more gore in many "lesser" movies. See it with someone you love!

Default Haven't seen the movie, but have read the book. IMHO the book goes way over the top,

into the realms of fantasy. Credibility, which is what made the earlier books (e.g. Manhunter) so scary, goes right out the window with this latest effort.
I read somewhere that Jodie Foster didn't want to reprise her role in this one. No matter, it will still be a box-office smash, but I doubt if I'll bother to see it.

Now if only somebody would make a Harry Bosch movie....

Default Without giving anything away, I will say the movie is a lot more believable than the book. The more

you know about Hannibal Lecter and his entire thought process, the more things make sense. Meet me halfway on it and see it at a matinee if for no other reason than seeing a very intense performance by Anthony Hopkins. Just be prepared for 20 minutes(!) worth of previews and trailers.

My dad's urns are in that movie, so I will see it. GLAD to hear it's good. I was worried.

Default OK, who should be Harry Bosch?

I'm a Michael Connelly fan, and I've often wondered why there isn't a film version yet.

As for actors, I'd like to see someone new get a shot, as most of the "A" list guys don't have the physical or personal presence to do it right (please don't suggest Russell Crowe!)

Ving Rhames might be a nice changeup; some of the guys on the Sopranos would have the physical presence, but I'm not sure they match up on the personality. Just for fun, I'd like to see Jesse Ventura try; I don't think he has the chops for it, but he'd have the physical presence and attitude down cold. Cheers!
