Default Been *very* happy with my Panasonic DVD-A310 for last 2 years.

No! SACD is the next Beta - dead before it hits the ground. No software. DVD-A is the way to go.

Default Who cares about teh SACD support. This machine is the monster of all DVD PLayers

Made my Sony S7700 Obsolete the day it came out.

Thought I still have the kick butt sliding door.

Default If you are even remotely into the Home Theater stuff, the PS2 is not a good DVD Player

...however if you want to play games on something that'll let you watch DVDs, teh PS2 is a good choice.

Default I've used Sony Audio / Video equipment since 10/90 and have had 1 problem

...and it was fixed under warranty just last week. Course that was a Sony ES product (TA-E9000ES Pre-Amp)
