Run away, run away! There is no way someone can legitimately sell that software for that price. Somethings rotten in the state of Denmark...and it ain't a bad herring (just a red one)!

If you want an inexpensive photo program, you can try to find older copies of Corel PhotoPaint 8 or 9 (10 is the current version), you can usually find them for around $70-80. PhotoPaint is perhaps 90% of Adobe Photoshop, at a much lower price.

idea how to use. I was just wondering about this email I received, and thought someone here might have some thoughts on the subject.

It might sound like an unreal deal but you don't really know the situation that lead to that software coming to this person. The guy could have gotten it from a company going out of business via liquidation, who knows. Considering you can get servers for 10% of cost when they come out of liquidation, this isn't such an unheard of deal. Especially when you consider the number of IT related companies that have gone belly up recently.
