Actually, there's a new Absinthe called Absente.
I got some for my stepdad for Christmas.

Sip. You could shoot it, but then you'd miss out on the fun. Do you shoot or sip Lagavulin?
You sip it, to truly enjoy the product. Shooting Lagavulin or any good single malt would be a waste. I'm not attempting to make any direct comparisons between the quality of the two liquors, only in their method of consumption.
Take tequila, that's a "shooter" not a "sipper", you don't see people gently warming tequila in a snifter. :-)
