...shelve it this afternoon right when we were yards from the checkered flag. Dangit!!! This is the way software development is but it doesn't make it any easier when the moments arise. I'm packing up my crap and going home for the day. $hit.

Default Panic appears t/b setting in everywhere with *Techs*. Nortel news is doing a number on everybody.

Magnitude of their reported losses are MIND BOGGELING.

Sorry Dave. Perhaps a spirited drive home will help.

This is not panic related. It's poor planing and no strategy related.

When do they move to the next step: looking to apportion blame?

Default I feel for you. Could have been worse - like loosing your job the day after you finish a project!

That's what happened to me. I had worked by tail off for 8 months on a project. They put me in charge of it and we killed ourselves to finish on time and on budget (not easy given insufficient resources). The day after I fly home from two other offices after training a bunch of people to use the stuff my team completed I get laid off. 50% of the company also lost their jobs. I was forced to leave California and head for Texas (where my wife and I now are). I'm still looking for something stable.

Go for a drive man. It always helps me.
