The long long down the road and pretty long term plan involves moving onto a boat, if we can ever get up enough money.(200-300k seems to be what we hope to be able to do down that road, qualities looking for our liveaboard moderate cruiser, easy to sail shorthanded 1-2 people)
Anyone out there been on these boats. I haven't seen any of these but figured people in florida might have seen these at the boat show.
We liked the Northwind43 the best. Wife liked the more home type feel and had all the other things she liked.(cost in FL is about 85k to much, maybe we could get alot more around our 'future' price point if we moved to Spain and got it there but then where would i work
)
The beneteau 473 for cost and comfort.But I have negligable feelings about them, walked on some smaller beneteaus in seattle. Seemed ok, and got alot for your money, but didnt seem the best in quality. And I'd rather have quality out in the middle of the ocean.
The X-482 as a boat I will not be able to afford but one that we liked.
Used to like the Hallberg Rassy but havent looked at them lately.

Both Benetau and X-Yachts are great boats. Definitely check for used as both are very expensive new. I'm considering getting an X-119 myself. which I can get for about $100k CDN or about $65k USD! Not bad for a 40'!
Not sure I want to deal with the runners though as it will make it harder to single or double hand when I just want to go out for a quick sail after work.
